The quest for high-quality tertiary education in Valenzuela City advances as City Mayor REX Gatchalian, together with city officials, leads the inauguration of the PhP 361.6 million Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela Campus on Tongco Street, Barangay Maysan, January 19, 2018.
Sitting on a 1.7-hectare property, the new PLV campus consists of three modern western Mediterranean-style buildings with state-of-the-art facilities, such as the laboratories for mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electronics and communications engineering, information and communication technology (ICT), materials testing, fluid mechanics, chemistry, physics, and speech communication. It also boasts of a library with an extensive collection of books and other reading materials, an audio-visual room, spacious lecture rooms, and a student’s lounge where PLVians can loosen up from daily academic pressure.
The PLV World Card was also launched during the event. The card is the access pass of PLV students to all campuses of the university. Through the card, their parents or guardians can also be notified by text whether they are on or off-campus.
One of the highlights of the occasion was the unveiling of the newly restored Eduardo Castrillo sculpture, which now serves as the campus’ symbol of pride, with its maxim of academic excellence.
Senator WIN Gatchalian, former mayor of Valenzuela City, graced the event and Davao City Representative Karlo Alexei B. Nograles attended as guest of honor.
